Owner Joseph Semrad III started Upgrade Landscape Designs out of his home in 1987. Over the last four decades, he has turned this start-up dream into Scapes Ohio, the reliable tree services and personalized care company that Cincinnatians trust.

A Passion for the Work

At a young age, Joe took his entrepreneurial spirit and love of the outdoors and started mowing lawns in the Cincinnati area. His love for the outdoors paved the way for his career.

Education

Joe studied Arboriculture at Cincinnati State. He also majored in Ornamental Horticulture and Turf-Grass Management at Morehead State.

Experience

While in college, he worked at several of the area’s leading garden and landscape centers, laying the foundation of his company, work ethic and business acumen.

Continuing Education

Staying up to date on advances in the field by attending yearly seminars and continuing education events.
